long before organic farming became popular, muzi bred the stock of organic tencha tea plants to cultivate the finest organic matcha in the world. in the early 1970's, muzi matcha became the first in the world to receive organic certification. muzi organic matcha remains the highest quality matcha in the market today.

 


we care about all of our tea from seed to when it steeps in your cup. each seed is nurtured and harvested to our exacting standards, then cultivated using environmentally friendly techniques. to further ensure quality, we only purchase our tencha tea leaves from growers with at least 50 years experience growing this delicate tea. and we don't stop there.

all of our tea is packaged in airtight opaque tin containers to ensure freshness and quality. no humidity or light can reach the tea to damage it. the strength of the tin makes sure the delicate tea leaves do not get crushed. and the screw top with rubber stopper ensures that after you open and close your tea tin, the airtight seal is recreated to keep the tea fresh.

 

to ensure our non-green tea is every bit as good as our green tea, we looked for the hardest test we could put it through and found it in germany. all of muzi non-green tea leaves are handpicked from the best tea regions of the world and then flown to germany, home to the world's most exacting standards in tea inspection. there each tea leaf is thoroughly inspected for herbicides, pesticides and other chemical residue. and if it doesn't pass the test, it doesn't get passed on to you.
